Student Life

As Radnor A Better Chance begins our 37th year we welcome three new freshmen, Ahmed Braxton from Washington, D.C., Tamara Taylor-McDonald and Eliezer Marte from New York. We also welcome Leigh Gaston, former Radnor High School graduate as a new resident tutor. Our returning students are Dalisbeth Galvez and Terrel Brown (seniors), Victoria David and Joseph Rodriguez (juniors) and Laura Okwueze (sophomore).

During the past academic year Victoria David and Dalisbeth Galvez were recognized at Radnor High School for receiving distinguished honors each marking period. Dalisbeth was inducted into the National Honor Society and received a College Book Award. Johnathan Coleman (’09 alum) and Dalisbeth received awards at the Radnor High School athletic awards program. Adriana Lozano(’09 alum) scored 10th in the country on the National French exam. Johnathan received a full football scholarship to Boston College.

In June Victoria received the 2009 A Better Chance Excellence Award. This award was presented at the National, A Better Chance luncheon in New York. The award is for recognition of outstanding academic performance, contributions to Radnor High School’s community and demonstrated leadership abilities.

Johnathan Coleman (’09 alum) is excited about being at Boston College and Adriana Lozano (’09 alum) is enjoying college life at Manhattan College in New York. Our students are looking forward to a productive and successful academic year filled with numerous school and community activities.
